Extension Setup

The SweepGuard browser extension provides real-time protection by scanning transactions before you sign them.

Installation

Chrome / Brave / Edge

• Visit the Chrome Web Store (link on dashboard)


• Click "Add to Chrome"


• Confirm the permissions


• The SweepGuard icon will appear in your toolbar

Firefox



• Visit Firefox Add-ons (link on dashboard)


• Click "Add to Firefox"


• Confirm the permissions

Features

Transaction Simulation


Before you sign any transaction, the extension simulates it and shows:

• Exact token amounts being transferred


• Destination addresses


• Gas costs


• Risk assessment (safe, warning, dangerous)

Drainer Detection


The extension maintains a database of known drainer contracts:

• Real-time comparison against known malicious addresses


• Warning popups for suspicious approvals


• Blocklist updated every hour

Address Poisoning Protection


Detects and warns about address poisoning attacks:

• Flags tiny "dust" transactions from unknown addresses


• Highlights lookalike addresses in your transaction history


• Suggests verified addresses from your contacts

Approval Monitoring


Tracks all token approvals across chains:

• Shows current active approvals


• Warns about unlimited approvals


• One-click revocation via Revoke.cash integration

Configuration

After installation, click the SweepGuard icon and configure:

Alert Settings



• Transaction warnings: Enable/disable simulation popups


• Drainer alerts: Get notified about known drainer interactions


• Approval alerts: Warn before signing unlimited approvals

Safe Addresses



• Add your safe wallet addresses for quick reference


• The extension will suggest these when you need to send recovered funds

Chain Selection



• Enable/disable specific chains


• Set priority order for multi-chain scanning

How It Works

• You visit a dApp and initiate a transaction


• The extension intercepts the transaction request


• Transaction is simulated against current blockchain state


• Risk assessment is generated based on:

- Destination address reputation
- Token approval patterns
- Known drainer signatures
- Unusual transaction patterns

• You see a popup with the assessment and details


• You decide to proceed or cancel

Troubleshooting

Extension not detecting transactions



• Make sure the extension is enabled


• Check that the dApp is using standard wallet providers


• Try refreshing the page

False positives



• You can whitelist specific addresses in settings


• Report false positives to help improve detection

Performance issues



• Disable chains you don't use


• Clear the extension's cache in settings
